Materials for Pedagogic Support

Based on years of research and experience, Berlitz has put together a multi-media materials package that perfectly enhances our language courses.  Multi-media materials include:

TEACHER MANUALS

Follow an easy, step-by-step linguistic ladder, allowing students to learn a new language from the bottom up-from simple to complex, from concrete to abstract.

ILUSTRATION BOOKS

Complement the lesson plan to help the student grasp new vocabulary and grammar immediately.  The Berlitz illustration books are unique for each different language.

STUDENT READER/WORKBOOKS

Reinforce material learned in class and provide a systematic introduction to reading and writing.  (Available for Arabic, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish).

REVIEW TAPES

Are an integral part of most Berlitz courses.  They consist of six 60-minute cassettes or CDs that:

• Provide reinforcement of what the student hears in class through lively, dramatic episodes featuring a variety of native voices and authentic sounds from a country.
• Foster progress by allowing students to review material at home and freeing up maximum class time for the presentation of new material.
• Offers wide variety of situations where the student cannot depend on the gestures of the person on the other end,  such as; telephone conversations, radio programs, public announcements, etc.

Basic level review tapes available for Czech, Dutch, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.  Intermediate level available for English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

BUSINESS SUPPLEMENTS

Offer basic-level, customized vocabulary for today's international business executive. Available for Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

TECHNOLOGICAL SUPPORT

Through video and computer programs designed to support live instruction and accelerate the learning process.  These programs, which correspond direcly to the Berlitz curriculum, help students assimilate material more quickly and take greater control over their learning experience.  Comprehensive multi-media CD-ROM programs are available to support learning in Spanish, Japanese, English, French, and German. 

SPECIAL MATERIALS FOR ENGLISH

These materials include:

"Doing Business in English": An intermediate to advanced level reader/workbook with six audiocassettes for home review, designed for students of business English.  The material presents the continuing story of the president of a medium-sized electronics firm as he deals with various problems.

"Exploring the Issues": An advanced English reader/workbook with three audiocassettes to be used in class and at home.  Covers areas of general interest such as the environment, education, health, and the media.

"Business Topics": a high-intermediate reader/workbook with four audiocassettes to be used in class and at home. Designed for students who wish to improve their English for use in a business environment.

"Business Case Studies": a high-intermediate reader/workbook with one audiocassette to be used in class and at home. It presents four business case studies for students to examine and evaluate.

"Business Presentations": a high-intermediate to advanced reader/workbook with one audiocassette and optional video to be used in class and at home. Provides students with skills needed to prepare and deliver an effective business presentation.

"Professional Series": high-intermediate to advanced reader/workbooks, each with one cassette, to be used in class and at home.  Four modules are offered for students who wish to improve their English proficiency in the following areas:
